Surgery Scheduler

A surgery scheduler is assigned to a small group of physicians and usually has daily contact with these doctors. The scheduler is responsible for all aspects of the surgeons schedule, from surgeries to meetings. Most of a scheduler’s time is spent on the phone with the hospital surgery schedulers and with the patient. This job requires being able to juggle many tasks at once. Also, attention to detail is very important as even a small mistake regarding preparation for a surgery can have a big impact. Other responsibilities include pre-authorizing surgeries and coordinate new hospital consults with our physician assistant.
