William J. Utz, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Born, raised and trained in the Rochester Minnesota, Dr. William Utz is a third generation  Minnesota physician who has a particular interest in prostatic disorders, both benign and malignant. After finishing his Chief Residency at Mayo in 1991, Dr.Utz and his senior partner Dr. Roland Ugarte were the first urologists in the US to perform high energy TUMT in August of 1994.

As the former Chairman of the Dept. of Urology at ANW hospital, former Chairman, Dept of Surgery at Fairview Southdale hospital and past President of Minnesota Urological Society, Dr. Utz provides an expertise to all uro-oncologic diseases. He is currently involved in 3 large multicenter urological clinical studies thru the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute.

Dr. Utz is an associate faculty member of the University of Minnesota Department of Urology. He has also been named numerous times at a “Top Doctor” by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine.
